Richard "Rick" Lawrence Kinard, Jr.

Richard “Rick” Lawrence Kinard, Jr., 53, passed away in Hampton, VA on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. Richard was born in Bethesda, MD to Richard Kinard and Carolyn Marshall. Rick served in the US Marine Corps during Operation Desert Storm and later Desert Shield with the US Army. After his dedicated active duty time he joined the Army Reserves and later the National Guard. One of a kind, Rick was easy going and a practical jokester, he truly never met a stranger. Rick can be best described as generous, loving and kind hearted. In his spare time he enjoyed making music. He is cherished in memory by his loving wife of 20 years, Monique Kinard; 2 stepdaughters Ashleigh Rice Robinson (Woodrow) and Amber Rice; Amber's 4 bundles of joy; Ashleigh's .5; Mother In-law J. Robin Rice; sister n law, Jeannine Rice; and nephew, DeVen Rice; his father Richard Kinard-Bey; his mother Carolyn Marshall-Tibbs and stepfather James Tibbs, Jr.; his children, Chanese Kinard and Richaard Mickens; Chanese's 2 bundles of joy; half-brothers, Cornell and Jerome Kinard; half-sisters, Sabrina and Salina Kinard; and a host of other cherished family members and friends. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Woodlawn Funeral Home. There will be a repass to follow the funeral service in the reception hall.
