Larry McKinney

Larry McKinney, born in West Virginia, passed away at the age of 88, on August 15, 2024. Larry proudly served his country first in the U.S. Army, then in the United States Navy, and upon retiring from the Navy, Larry continued to serve his community for another 20 years as a Letter Carrier with the United States Postal Service. Larry was an avid guitar player, lover of music, a NASCAR fan, and tennis buff. He was a devoted husband and adored T.J., his wife of 60 years. He was a doting father to Lisa, Vickie and her husband Chris, and a loving Popaw to Erika, Samantha and her husband Samuel, and Nicholas. Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, children, grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends. A celebration of Larry’s life will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 12 noon at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk.
