Joseph "Joey" Peter LaPlaca

Joseph "Joey" P. LaPlaca,84, passed away on July 17,2024. He was born in Rochester, New York to the late Joseph and Rose LaPlaca. Left behind to cherish his memories are his adoring wife of 62 years Georgia, and his children, daughter Deborah A. Salway and son Mark LaPlaca, his spouse Deborah L., his puppy Tiffany Tiara the Princess, along with a host of other family and friends. Joey was a plastic engineer with Huntsman/Nova Chemical Corporation. After his retirement he enjoyed being an adjunct professor at Old Dominion University. Joey also enjoyed watching basketball and golf but truly was a huge Buffalo Bills fan. He and Mark would often watch the games together. Joey's biggest blessings were his children Debbie and Mark. He had a profound impact on the many lives he touched and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A memorial service to celebrate Joeys life will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 1 PM at the Woodlawn Funeral Home on 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk.
