Eugene C. Barnhardt IV

Eugene Columbus Barnhardt, IV, 68, passed away on Sunday, April 20th, 2025. He was born in New London, CT to the late CAPT. Eugene C. Barnhardt III and Catharine B. Caperton Barnhardt. He found joy in watching NASCAR and other sports to include football, baseball and crime TV. His love for sports extended beyond the screen, as he enjoyed bowling, fishing, and playing golf. These activities brought him great happiness and allowed him to connect with friends and family. Eugene, also known as Big EC, Big Daddy, or Poppy was known for his loving and giving nature. He was always willing to assist anyone at any time, embodying the true spirit of generosity and kindness. His presence, coupled with his witty sense of humor, was a source of comfort and support to all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Patricia V. Barnhardt; son, Eugene C. Barnhardt V and his wife Jennifer A. Barnhardt; daughter, Audra M. Williams; grandsons, Kal-El K. Williams and Kobe K. Williams; step-mother, Margo Barnhardt lll; siblings, Katharine B. Chase and Jean B. Ray.

The family is inviting friends to pay respects from 2-3pm on Friday, April 25, 2025 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. Norfolk, VA.
