Doris was born on August 27, 1946 in Springfield Massachusetts to the late Arthur and Annie Lovejoy. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 34 years Randall Wilbur Bangert.
Doris was a devoted mother and naval officer's wife. In her past time you could find Doris knitting or sewing. Doris enjoyed reading, shopping and traveling, but most of all she loved the company of family and friends.
Doris worked as a secretary for several years at Heritage United Methodist Church in Virginia Beach. Later Doris worked in management in the Retail Industry.
Left to cherish Doris's legacy are her daughter Tasha Dekker (Channon); two sons, Shane Bangert (Ellen), and Brandon Bangert (Alicia); brother Donald Lovejoy; two sisters Ruthie Green and Marilyn Lovejoy; special nephew Jamie Lovejoy; four grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; Pam Brooke dear and best friend for 56 years.
The family invites you to a memorial gathering at 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, Virginia 23502 in the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home on Saturday October 7, 2023 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.
A burial will take place later in Arlington National Cemetery where Doris will be laid to rest with her husband Randall.
Her family will have a private gathering in Vermont one of Doris' favorite places she loved to visit.
