Arthur Hamlin Price

Petty Officer 1st Class, Arthur H. “Art” Price (USN Ret.), 81, passed away February 17, 2018 in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was known by his friends and family as “Art”, “Oz” and “Popi”. He was born in Statesville, NC to the late O. C. and Vesta Price, Sr. Art dedicated over 20 years of his life serving proudly in the United States Navy. He received The Vietnam Service Medal, The Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, multiple Good Conduct awards, The Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon and The National Defense Service Medal. After the Navy, he went on to work in the Civil Service as an Electrical Inspector. He was a member of Lynnhaven Masonic Lodge #220, The Eastern Star, Khedive Temple and Jobs Daughters. Art enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and the Pacific but especially Key West. He was preceded in death by the “Love of his life” his wife of 44 years, Sadie.

Art is survived by two daughters; Sandra O’Connor (David) and Teresa Price (Mark), son; Mark Powers (Trish), 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many other loving family and friends.

Art’s funeral service will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 1 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, VA 23502. The visitation will be Thursday night from 5- 8 PM at the funeral home. Please visit www.woodlawngroup.com to share a memory with the family.
