Antonio “Tony” Octavo, 85, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023 in Virginia Beach, VA. Tony was born in the Philippines to Rufino and Monica Octavo. He was predeceased by his parents, his seven siblings, and his loving wife of 59 years, Ligaya. Tony is survived by his son Joseph Octavo and Joe’s significant other, Connie and his daughter Maria Esmay and her husband, Ian. Tony also leaves behind his grandchildren Michael and Hannah, as well as many family members and friends. Tony served in the United States Navy and retired after 20 years of dedicated service. He later worked for the Military Sealift Command as a Merchant Marine. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, ballroom dancing and gardening.
A visitation is scheduled from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. on Friday, May 19, 2023 at Woodlawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on the following day, Saturday, May 20, 2023, 2 pm, in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
