Oct 16, 1934 - Aug 26, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Uncle and Friend Bo in his 87th year. He is survived by his loving sister June Ness of Minnetonka, Minnesota and 17 nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his first wife Janet Nokes (2005) & his second wife Mary Connolly (2019). He is also predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Elizabeth, and by his brothers Jim, Sandy, Andy, Bill and Chick. Bo worked for Bell Canada at the Niagara Falls location as a technician for 36 years until his retirement. As a young man, he was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hockey like all the other Ness boys in Stamford Township. In his earlier years, his family lived next to Hope’s Restaurant at 5 corners which is now Tim Hortons and Commisso’s. During his retirement, he enjoyed golfing and rangering at Rolling Meadows Golf Club. Bo became a Big Brother in 1971. He was a strong role model to his Little Brother, Dave Lumax. Bo and his wife Janet, were very influential in Dave’s life and his four children. Bo enjoyed coaching kids’ Legion hockey as a young man for many years at some very cold arenas early in the mornings. He was fond of walking his dogs down at the floral clock where they could chase the squirrels and the odd deer. Bo spent many hours working in his gardens planting beautiful flowers, hedges and keeping the grass immaculate at his homes on Armoury St. & Creekside Senior Estates. We would like to thank everyone at River Road Retirement Residence where Bo lived for 2 years helping and guiding him while he suffered with dementia and through the Covid19 pandemic. Also, many thanks to the staff at Niagara Long Term Residence (NOTL) for being there during some difficult times and being attentive to his needs. A get together and celebration of Bo’s life is being planned for next summer 2022. Memorial donations can be made to Legion 479, 5603 Spring St, Niagara Falls, ON.
