Russell Wallace Ballantyne

Russell was born in South Amboy on September 23, 1959 to the late James and Lulu (Haase) Ballantyne. Russell grew up in Sayreville before settling in Sussex County in 1987. An avid motorcycle enthusiast, he found joy and freedom on the open road. His love for motorcycles was only surpassed by his love for his wife and daughter. Russell was affectionately known as “Uncle Wally” by his friends, family, and community.

The beloved husband to the late Janice E. Ballantyne, Russell is survived by his daughter, Raven Ballantyne; his siblings, Rita Ballantyne-Ward (and husband Larry) and Adam Ballantyne (and wife Rhoda); and his cherished extended family of nieces and nephews. Along with his parents and wife, Russell was predeceased by two brothers, James and Stephen Ballantyne.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. on Monday, July 22, 2024 at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton, NJ 07860.
