George was born in Canadensis, Pennsylvania, the only son of George Harvey Clark Sr. and Carolyn Lorraine Knecht Clark. George was survived by his sister, Arlene Carol Clark Eppley, and was proceeded in death by his sisters, Edna Helen Clark Piscatello and Rose Marie Clark, and by his love of over 20 years, Emma Scearce.
George leaves behind three children, Jeffrey (Agnes) Clark, of Bangor Pennsylvania, Pamela (Kevin) Hardy, of Powhatan, Virginia, and Steven (Maranda) Clark, of Henryville, Pennsylvania; 6 Grandchildren; Zachary Clark, Victoria Clark, Casey Clark, Sarah Hardy, Nick Hardy, and Julia Clark, and 3 Great Grandchildren; Gavin Clark, Raelynn Clark, and Wyatt Oliver.
George grew up in a small community and went to Barrett School. He would take his sister Arlene fishing on the first day of the season every year when they were young, and he was always protective of his sisters. He spent many summers camping with his children at Tobyhanna State Park. He worked as a mechanic at Sears in Stroudsburg, PA and later became the Manager of the automotive dept there, building friendships with his co-workers. Later he moved to Myrtle Beach, SC where he met Emma, and enjoyed walks on the beach and the warm weather. He then moved to Danville, VA and spent many years volunteering with God’s Pit Crew, an organization he was devoted to. His last years were spent living with his daughter and her family in Virginia, going for walks, working in the yard, eating Reese’s peanut butter cups, and talking about tractor trailers.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 2 pm to 4 pm on Friday, October 6, 2023, at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St, Newton, NJ.
