Bob had a strong belief and trust in God, and God was faithful. He claimed the promise in
Isaiah 49:23, “Those whose hope is in the Lord will not be disappointed.” Though our hearts are broken, we rejoice in that hope and know Bob was not disappointed.
Born November 1, 1945 in Morganton, NC, he was the son of the late Don C. and Louise Ingle Patton. Also, preceding him in death were two brothers, D. C. and Hence, two sisters, one infant
and Maggie Patton Wilson.
Bob and the late Joe Kaylor founded Piedmont Foam, Inc. in 1987. Besides working, Bob loved people and spending precious time with family. The “3-Zs” as the three grandsons were often called, lovingly named their grandfather “GrandBob.” He was so proud of them and wanted God’s best for them.
Surviving is his wife, Judy Grey Patton, who was blessed to be married to him for almost 52 years; beloved daughter, Alisa PattonWhiteside and husband, Clark; three grandsons, Zeb, Zackery and Zeke. Also surviving are two sisters, Rebecca Stamey (Albert) and Sue Bumgarner (Dewey); one brother, George Patton; and sister-in-law Cathy Grey Carson (Dan), all of Morganton, NC. Numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved also survive.
To each of you who prayed, assisted, or showed loving kindness in any way, our family extends our heart-felt “Thank you.” To our beloved Bob, we will forever miss you…until we are reunited in heaven. The love will bind us together.
