Clinton was a man who exemplified dignity and grace. During the forty years I have known him as a neighbor, friend, and musical partner he was always positive, encouraging and kind. A great gardener he generously shared one of his signature early June tomatoes with me, a fellow farm boy with roots far away, who was just learning to love red dirt and the loam of Clark’s creek bottom land. I learned a lot from Clinton, who was half a generation older, about quiet strength and how to lead by example with humility and steadfastness. He was a model family man and endured the trials of life with acceptance and patience. Honest and forthright, a man to be trusted. I will miss sitting and talking to him but surely he lives on in the hearts and minds of many of us whose lives he has touched.

Our sincere condolences for the entire Sigmon family. May God carry you through your grief with his light and love.

How special Edith was to me, from my student teaching with her to teaching fifth graders side by side for 20 years at Shuford until her retirement.  We had so many great times together even with some challenging students sometimes.  She helped me get through hard days and put fun into the ordinary days.  I was blessed to share those years with her.  Since 1995 I also was honored to be with her at Hart Square each year as we tended the school house and school master's house.  And, of course, I'll never forget the delicious pound cakes she gave us as well as Jimmy sharing his tomatoes and peaches.
 She was so proud of all of her family and was always sharing about your lives and accomplishments.  I will forever keep her and Jimmy in my heart because of their impact on me .  They will live on through you, their wonderful family.  Thank you for the care and love you all provided them during their final years.  I will miss them.   Donna

I have such fond memories of my uncle Jimmy who was my dad’s younger brother.   When I was seven or eight Jimmy had just graduated from high school.  I used to go watch him play basketball in the startown gym as well as going with him to baseball games to watch him pitch.   I was his catcher when he used to practice pitching in back of my grandparents house.   In addition to being an excellent athlete, my uncle had a wonderful sense of humor.  I will miss him a lot. 

Edith, Randy, Mark and Family, I'm very sorry to hear about Clinton.  Clinton was a long time customer of my father's store at the Young Men's Shop.  It was always a pleasure to see him and your family come in.  I always remember him sharing vegetables out of his garden with us.  He continued to do that long after my father closed the store.  To us, he was much more than a customer, he was a friend.  My thoughts and prayers will be with each of you in the days to come.

It is sad when we loose someone that has touched our lives so greatly.  I will miss the singing and the baseball games.  He taught tollerance and to find joy in what you do.  He will be missed.
