Clarence Junior Haney

Clarence Junior Haney, 87, of Newton, NC passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. Clarence was born in Norton, VA to the late Sam and Nannie Dykes Haney in 1937. Having a comical personality, Clarence was quick witted and often told jokes making people laugh. Some people even called him the “Jokester”. Having retired from Mid-State Mills in Newton, NC he and his wife Peggy loved the outdoors and would go fishing as often as they could.

In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by his sister Pearl Reed. He is survived by his wife of 55 Years, Peggy Phillips Haney: three sons: Randy Hughes of Hickory, NC and wife Lynn; Tony Haney and his wife Mary Ann of Newton, NC; Kevin Haney and his wife Maria of Taylorsville, NC; three daughters: Sherry Honeycutt and her husband Scott of Newton, NC; Teresa Carswell and her husband Joe of Taylorsville, NC; Patricia Haney of Hickory, NC; eighteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 11:00am-2:00pm at 1665 Nelson Drive, Newton, NC 28658.
