I lived across the street from the Dortches from the time I was born to when I moved away to school. Ray used to never turn me down whenever I’d ride my bike over to get my tires blown up. He let me ride up that incredibly steep driveway all the time to just come hang out and talk to him in his garage and ask him more questions than I think he knew what to do with! (Especially about his arm tattoo!)

I loved that man as much as my own Grandpa, who I was living with on Neargate Dr. I have forever said that Ray was my first best friend. I am so incredibly saddened by the news of his passing but I am so over the moon happy he lived such a long life. Rest In Paradise, Mr. Dortch ❤️❤️❤️

I have many fond memories of Ray Dortch. I grew up across the street from him. He was one of my favorite people. Always had a kind word and a smile. And a great disposition.  Very positive person. He will be missed. I played with his grandchildren and spent countless days in that home, as a kid. God bless his family through the grief that they must be feeling. I hope the good memories see them through their sorrow.
