Brian,
Your words and thoughts at the services were quite moving. One can only try and appreciate the great relationship that you and KD had for so many years together. As I wiped the tears from my face, I could hardly imagine the pain you were feeling. Hopefully, given some time, you will be able to focus on the wonderful memories that you two built together and it will again bring a smile to your face. KD was a very special lady and your are a very lucky man to have been her partner for so many years. Remember, she will always be with us in our thoughts and prayers......

As we prepare to celebrate KD's life, I can't help but reflect upon the laughter that KD and I shared together. She was a bright spot at family gatherings as we could always share a deep chuckle together! How I admired her inner strength and feisty spirit. She was ever the encourager in that she went out of her way to compliment the little things that often go unnoticed. She spent  extra time engaging in conversations with my girls and took a deep interest in their lives--for this, I am truly grateful. Autumn commented that she felt that Aunt KD appreciated the little things in life and that she always said encouraging things to her and her sisters. KD spoke so highly of her family members and she absolutely adored her parents and siblings. Of course, Sean was the light of her life and her face always shined with pride when she spoke of him. I appreciated her zest for for life and her tenacious drive to improve upon the ordinary. She was an extraordinary woman, for sure! Brian-we love you and pray that you will find strength in knowing that KD was a remarkable gal who will be missed by all.

From Renea Washington.....KD and our journey started after 1994 Northridge earthquake.   There she was, an unshaken professional woman, keeping her appointment for the job.  I said to myself, here is a woman with determination, who never allowed anything to stop her.  I knew right then and there that she was a person I wanted to get to know better....and I did.   I remember when all the ladies at work could not wait until lunchtime and we would gather at the lunch table like little children waiting for a story to be told to us.  KD would open her lunch, we would all get quiet in anticipation of her reading the note that Brian would put in her bag every day.  The notes were always so beautiful and loving...it would take our breath away. I remember thinking that for one to write such beautiful notes, that KD had to be a beautiful lady.  I have worked with people all over the world and never encountered anyone that people's responses about them were always so positive and admirable.  The world we live in today, with these responses, shows how exceptional a person she was..  Her love for Sean, her son, was always very, very loving, and he is a better man because of her expression and feelings toward him.  As for me, she became a great friend...overlooking color, financial status, and accepting me , for me and who I was. I will never forget her call , after I lost my job of 20 years.  She said to me that she and Brian would be there to pick me up, buy me food and to say no was out of the question.  Everyone knew that once she put her foot down, there was nothing anyone could say, except ok and go with it!  KD truly loved ALL of her family and shared many stories with me with a vivid picture.  It made me feel as though I were there growing up with her. I'm very grateful that she shared with me her experiences because it let me know how a family could truly be.  In closing, I may have lost a really good friend, but the memories and her courage will live in my heart and mind forever.  It's very seldom, if at all, in one's lifetime that you have the opportunity to meet an angel.  Rest in Peace my friend.  No one can ever take your place.  My deepest condolences to Brian, Sean, and the entire family.

Brian, I was very sorry to hear of Katie's passing. She was a great lady, I loved talking to her, she was interesting, lots of fun. Memories are all be have and I know you have many great ones..I'll miss her...Jeanne Miller, Sylmar, Ca

Brian:  We are so sorry to hear about Karen.  She is now an angel in heaven looking down upon us.  We will miss her terribly.  Our prayers are with you and your family.
