20 Gregorian Masses are being celebrated for Joan from January 31 to March 1, 2022 by the Miles Christi Religious Order.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday February 17, 2022 at Eternal Valley Memorial Park & Mortuary with Deacon Gabriel Aguilera of St. Kateri Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Eternal Valley Cemetery. Arrangements are by Eternal Valley.
Joan Diane Maldonado was born in Glendale, California to Barbara Jean & Harley Hugo Ascherin on April 2, 1947. She went to school at Montrose Elementary School, the Rosemont Jr. High. She married David Maldonado on October 14, 1966 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She graduated from Cresenta Valley High School. She studied Interior Design at a local Jr. College for a short time. She worked as a Lifeguard while in Jr. High School at Indian Springs Pool with Jan her twin sister in the summer months. She often worked with her mom at Truelock and Mcintosh Photography taking photos of kids in grammar school. She also attended some years later at a Jr. College near Long Beach to be a Veterinarian Tech Assistant while David worked at Boeing in the early 1990’s. She was involved in John Tracy Clinic for the deaf in Los Angeles and was recognized as the youngest person to read lips at 3 years old and given a lifetime award of a special engraved brick in their outdoor patio in Los Angeles California. She has always been a very caring person who not only loves all animals but as a caring and devoted Grandmother was able to raise all 6 of her Grandchildren in their preschool years of growing up. She was kind, generous, loving person who always smiled and never spoke ill of people.
Joan Diane Maldonado is preceded in death by; Barbara Jean Heyes (her Mom), Harley Hugo Ascherin (her Dad), & Anthony Roy Poulin (her Brother-in-Law).
Joan Diane Maldonado is survived by David Maldonado (Husband), David Maldonado Jr. & Lola Maldonado (son & daughter-in-law), Rachel Lynn Bennett & John Bennett (daughter & son-in-law), Jan Elaine McClinton (sister), Cheri Lynn Poulin (sister), Cindy Guerro, Desiree Justina Maldonado, Mariah Joan Maldonado (Granddaughters), Jace Nicholas Bennett, Cooper Lane Bennett, Kaden Cole Bennett (Grandsons), and Ezekiel David Jones (Great Grandson).
Pallbearers will be Family.
Reception will follow after Graveside Service at David and Joan’s home.
