I was privileged to get to know Hector, and to write a TV pilot script together with him that we presented to Warner Bros television, when I worked at NBC, based on his characters and setting.
He was a very nice and funny man, and so knowledgeable about the TV industry and making people smile.

Hector was a mentor in the film industry and a wonderful person, and I will miss him terribly. I was a camera woman in television and film, and met Hector while shooting news and he was DP on a series we were covering. He encouraged me and mentored me, as I had also studied film, but had few opportunities to break into film, and we became friends. I let him accompany me on several shoots with Eye on LA, and he ended up giving me pointers on safety, (I was hanging out of the highest building in LA, shooting electricians lighting the top story and shooting a guy dynamiting a cave on a dangerous jobs story.) He was funny, a good actor, had great timing, understood people, and loved his family foremost. I remember when he met AnnaMary. He was over the moon. I'm so glad he found her. Rest in Peace, dear Hector.

Dear Anna Mary: I have been truly blessed these last few years to have you in my life. I didn't know Hector well but he was always so kind to me and made me feel welcome. I loved his sense of humor and I knew he was very special. I so wish Dave and I had known him better.  You are a light to everyone in your life, and I send all of my love and prayers to you and your family.

We were so fortunate to visit and 'talk story' with Hector and Anna Mary in April of last year. Hector will be greatly missed by all!

Dad, you loved candle light.  I'll never forget Kevin wondering why he looked so good whenever he'd visit.  I explained to him it was because all the lamps had dimmers and pink light bulbs.

Hector, Anna Mary, Patrica, and Hector's sister in law came to Sacramento one Sunday in 2010 under the pretense of seeing my father, Hector's cousin, at an installation mass for our new pastor.  My father, Chiqui Prietto, did not attend but we had the most wonderful afternoon getting to know Hector and his family members. I had always heard my father speak highly of his cousin Hector and feel blessed to have had the opportunity to get to know him. My sincerest condolences to Anna Mary and Hector's family.

Hector, Hector, the garbage collector! That was my taunt to my cousin, Hector.  I annoyed him to no end.  He would come over to my mom's house in Los Angeles, and go swimming.  He was so, so very handsome.  The "dark" Tyrone Power.  And he played an awsome game of tennis, and also looked so wonderful in tennis shorts.  He was a nice and loving gentleman.  I remember him as also going to my Aunt Katita's house at Christmas, and Hector was always there, and he would tease all of his cousins and we, too, would dish it out.  He is now, so they say, in a "better" place, teasing and joking with all his family.  Hector, you are missed.  love...Gloria Prietto.....

Anna Mary and family, I was so saddened to hear of Hector's passing. I will forever remember his impish sense of humor and abundant kindness. I hold you all in my thoughts and prayers.

My heart goes to Anna Mary, family and loved ones. I'm so sorry for your loss. I've known Hector to be nothing less than the kindest, most warmhearted and friendliest man I have ever met. Hands down!

I met Hector at last year's retreat at Mater Dolorosa. He was the first to greet me and ask me my name. I will always remember how happy and friendly he was. I am glad I had the opportunity to meet him.

I'm good friends with Hector's youngest son Steve.  Steve is a great friend, and a testament to Hector skills as a father.

Our love and sympathy Anna Mary, as we share in the memories of a wonderful person.  Hector had such a welcoming smile that was always accepting and warmed us with a sense of peace.  We feel fortunate to have shared the "Livie Connection" with Hector. We are so thankful to have gotten to know Hector and his welcoming embrace when we would see him at church and that will be a part of us always.  Our prayers and love to you and all his family and friends. He is now in our Lord's embrace.

Even thouogh I only had the pleasure of meeting Hector a few times at family reunions, he was a fun loving man and will be missed.

We are very sorry for your loss. We didn't get to know him well, but Hector was always very neighborly and with a ready smile. We pray your peace and comfort during this difficult time.

As family members we have only loving memories of Hector's generous heart towards his family and loved ones.  Our most recent memory was in November of 2010 when he and Anna Mary made a special trip to honor my mother's, Amparito, 90th birthday in Arizona.  That smile lit up a room and one could tell he was a very contended man.  May he rest in peace in God's loving arms.

We did not have the privilege of meeting Hector but based on our friendship with his son Steve, we know he was a was a kind and caring man who instilled the same qualities in his son. Hector's integrity and example has touched individuals from CA to FL. Our prayers are with the family.

Every Sunday morning at 8:30 Mass Hector's smile greeted me when he took his seat in the front-row pew. Thankfully, I get to remember his smile every time I walk by that pew. Such a blessing and warm feeling...and now he smiles at us from above. Praying that you will draw strength and comfort from Our Lord, Anna Mary.

We are so sad to hear of your loss. We remember Hector's wonderful sense of humor and will miss him.
