Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 19, at Eternal Valley Memorial Park and Mortuary with the Pastor Marty Walker of the Sanctuary Church officiating. Burial will follow at Eternal Valley Cemetery.
Evelyn was born in Ramsbottom, England to Ben Wilkinson and Edna Phyllis Wilkinson, nee Smith, on January 22, 1926. She went to school in Ipswich, England. She married William Frank Ward on November 20, 1950, in Ipswich. She worked as a variety of jobs, most notably serving in the British Land Army during World War II. Evelyn was affectionately known as Nana. She deeply enjoyed watching her birds and, when able, was an avid knitter. She enjoyed knitting baby blankets for expecting loved ones and made many hats for maternity wards. Evelyn was also an animal lover and cherished her cats. She very deeply missed her beloved Suki, Kitty, and Mitzi who she has been reunited with in peace. Regrettably Starbucks, Jack in the Box and MacDonald’s will suffer economically as she insisted her longevity was the product of decaf coffee, lattes, tacos, chicken nuggets, and egg and cheese McMuffins.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter, Lesley Peavy, and grandson, Ben Peavy.
Evelyn is survived by her grandson, Jason Peavy (Rebecca), and granddaughter Ashlee French (Sean). She is also survived by great grandsons Ryan, Gavin, and Aiden Peavy and Lochlan French.
Pallbearers will be Jason Peavy, Sean French, Ryan Peavy, Gavin Peavy, Aiden Peavy, and Andrew Torres.
