Wanda F. Thompson-Chapman, 87, of Evansville passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Linda E. White Hospice House with her family by her side. She was born August 18, 1934 in Central City, Kentucky to the late Eugene and Ruby Simmons.
She was a graduate of Central High School in Evansville, Indiana, and married Jimmie Thompson in 1951 in Central City, Kentucky. They became of members of Bethel Church in 1968 and were very involved in many ministries. Wanda retired from Sears Roebuck & Co. after 29 years of service.
After Jimmie’s passing, Wanda later married Harold Chapman in 2000. Wanda was blessed with a large family both from the Thompson and Chapman families.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Ernest Hill; her husband, Jimmie Thompson; her sister, Betty Self and her second husband, Harold Chapman.
She is survived by her children, Ronnie Thompson (Marcia), Larry Thompson (Evangeline) and Sandra Cooper (nee Thompson); 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
A private Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, officiated by Rev. David Schwambach, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
