Stanton Edward Rigney

He was a Harrison High School graduate and attended ISUE. He excelled in baseball (catcher) for both teams. He was a longtime active member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and currently was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Stanton was a very successful salesman, most recently employed at Allied Building Products, and previously at Shelter and Pioneer Asphalt Company. He enjoyed antique and Native American artifact collecting. Stanton was a skilled woodworker. He was an avid supporter of his grandchildren’s athletic events.

Stanton was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Velda Rigney; and sister, Susan Reid.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Judy; daughters, Erica Meier (Mark); Angela Jacobs (John); three grandchildren, Benjamin and Claire Meier and Emily Jacobs; cousin, Greg Gorman; brother-in-law, Jim Reid; sister-in-law, Ann Reynolds (James); and his nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 7, 2014, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, officiated by Rev. Arlene Okey with burial at Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit 12:00 PM until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
