EN EL CUIDADO DE
Alexander Funeral Home-Newburgh Chapel
Robert “Bob” Allen Waters, 85, of Newburgh, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 24, 2024. Born on February 28, 1939, in Mt. Olympus, Indiana, he was the son of the late Roy and Lydia (Reinbrecht) Waters.
A proud veteran, Bob served four years in the Navy aboard the USS Putnam, where he was stationed in the Suez Canal and the Mediterranean. After his military service, he pursued higher education, graduating from Vincennes University before being part of the inaugural class at ISUE (now USI).
Bob had a distinguished career in marketing and sales and later retired as a Medicaid Caseworker for the state. An early adopter of computer technology, he took great pride in building and repairing early computers. His passion for technology was matched only by his love for his "Coffee Crew" and his deep connections with friends and family. Bob was immensely proud of his family and their many accomplishments.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Karen Kay (Hightower) Waters; his sons, Brian (Julie) Waters and Mark (Leah) Waters; and his cherished grandchildren, Aiden Waters of Fontana, CA, Maddison Waters, Rome Waters, and Dominic Waters of Newburgh, IN, and Emma, Jonah, and Nora Waters of Marion, KY. He also leaves behind beloved nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his sisters, Martha Maxwell and Bonnie Frederick.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261. A graveside service will follow at 5:00 p.m. at White Church Cemetery in Princeton, IN.
