She graduated from Harrison High School in 1964. Nancy worked in dietary services with several area healthcare facilities, retiring from Stepping Stone in 2020. She was actively involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, still caring for her great grandchildren until she became ill in August 2021. Nancy is survived by her husband of 38 years Billy Nelson I; daughters, Rhonda Cox and Jennifer Weigant (Roy); son, Michael Osborne, Jr. (Amy); step-daughter, Michelle Calloway (Dana); step-son, Billy Nelson II; grandchildren, Katelyn Lawton (Justin), Brandon Cox (Ashlee), Andie Cox (Ethan), Cody Wiseman (Elly) and Austin Wiseman, and Ty and Micayla Osborne; great-grandchildren, Maci Mae, Carter and Levi Lawton with another on the way in April, Weston Michael Wiseman; brothers, Robert L. Owens (Sandy) and Michael Owens, and very special cousin, Maridawn Dull. The family sends special thanks to her longtime friend, Nancy Cormier who took special care of her while at Encompass Healthcare. Nancy always made sure she had things she liked to eat, and when she wouldn’t eat, making her shakes just the way she liked them. Also to her cousin, Maridawn Dull who visited often and brightened her days. Maridawn gave her the blanket that went everywhere with her. It was evident how happy her visits made Nancy. The family would also like to thank her nurses, especially Jenn and Jessica, Dr. Deepa Ghanta and respiratory therapist, Michelle King for their compassionate care and compassion they showed Nancy in her final days. And finally, thank you to the many doctors at Deaconess Gateway that cared for her during her lengthy illness, especially Dr. Nripesh Pradhan who cared for her all the way through her illness and was so kind and compassionate, as were all of her caregivers. A Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, officiated by Pastor Matthew Higgins, with interment in Rose Hill Cemetery.
