He was a 1966 graduate of Van Buren High School in Brazil, IN. Larry worked in the trucking business beginning in 1969 and was the owner of Gibco Motor Express starting in 2005. He was a devoted Christian. Larry was a sports fan, enjoyed golfing, was a big coon hunter, and loved collecting cars and going to car shows. He loved his grandchildren and cherished being involved with their activities.
Larry was preceded in death by his son, Thad Meeks, and brother, Terry Meeks.
He is survived by his children, Chad Meeks (Mary), Shannon Meeks, Jeremy Meeks (Angie), Christen Angermeier, April Angermeier, Valerie Nelson (Brandon), and Jessica Jo Meeks; grandchildren, Codi, Derric, Austin, Hunter, Ivy, Kaylen, Caleb, Adah, Liam and Mila; and great-grandchildren, Kiana and Alex.
A Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, officiated by Pastor Seth Amos, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may visit Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Following the graveside service there will be a celebration of life gathering at the Meek’s Family Field House at the University of Evansville.
