John C. Gibbs Jr.

John C. Gibbs, Jr., 72, of Evansville, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2020, at his home. He was born on July 21, 1948, in Evansville, Indiana, to the late John C. Gibbs, Sr. and Justine (Roberts) Storey. John lived life on his own terms. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, watching movies, fishing, playing games on his tablet, listening to music, and surfing the internet. John served in the US Army for two years. He retired from Whirlpool Corporation and enjoyed his retirement to the fullest. He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Joan Spalding and sister Marcia Freels. John is survived by his three children, David Gibbs (Jennifer), Kelly Gardner (Robert), and Marla Groves (John) all of Evansville, IN; sister, Teresa Dossett of Boonville, IN; ten grandchildren, Jason Gibbs, Samantha Gibbs, David Gibbs, Jr., Cory Staats, Michael Gibbs, Collin Staats, Shelby Gardner, Tyler Gardner, Meghan Groves, and Bayley Groves, as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2020 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, with entombment in Park Lawn Cemetery.
