Brenda Lee (Crawford) Martin, 82, of Newburgh, Indiana, passed away peacefully at 8:36 pm Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Riverpoint Health Care in Evansville, Indiana, following several months of failing health. Born November 29, 1941, in Evansville to Sam and Anna Mae (Leigh) Crawford, Brenda lived a life rich in adventure, compassion, and resilience. Brenda married Charles Martin on January 21, 1966, and together they shared a life filled with exploration, visiting all seven continents and every National Park in the United States. Brenda’s love for travel took her to some of the world’s most remote and beautiful places, and she cherished each journey as an opportunity to connect with new cultures and natural wonders. She was a strong, independent, and caring woman who dedicated her life to her family and friends. Her resilience and kindness were a constant source of support to those around her. In her final years, Brenda bravely faced the challenges of Alzheimer’s and dementia, a journey that highlighted her enduring strength even as she dealt with these afflictions. Brenda is survived by her devoted husband, Charles Martin of Newburgh, Indiana; daughter, Becky (Jeff) Wolf of Ft. Wright, Kentucky; son, Rick Martin of Newburgh, Indiana; and daughter, Anne Martin of Los Angeles, California. Her legacy lives on in her beloved grandchildren, Samantha Wolf, Sydney (Cody) Gohs, Nick Wolf, Anna Wolf, Bailey Harter-Martin, Brooke Martin, and Selah Martin; and great-grandchildren, Elliott Wolf, Deacon Gohs, Killian Gohs, and Lainey Gohs. She is also survived by a large extended family, including numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, Sam and Anna Mae Crawford; her sister, Joyce Clemens; and her son-in-law, Gregory Clewlow. A celebration of Brenda’s life will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home in Newburgh, Indiana. Friends may visit from 12:00 pm (noon) until the service time at the funeral home. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Riverpoint Health Care for their compassionate care.
