 Obituario de Bill Reeder Jaggers
Bill Reeder Jaggers (82) completed his journey here on Earth in the early morning hours of June 5, 2024 at his home in Newburgh, Indiana with his daughter Sally by his side. He passed peacefully after a long battle with Congestive Heart Failure. He was born on April 26, 1942 in Owensboro, KY to the late Woodford and Mildred Reeder Jaggers. Bill graduated from North High School, Class of 1960. He proudly led the charge of organizing and managing a significant Class of 1960 Endowment Scholarship for North High School that awards a college scholarship each year to a NHS graduating Senior. He went on to graduate from Purdue University in 1964 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He met the love of his life, Kay Herron while completing an Engineering Co-op Program at the University of Evansville in 1963. They were married on March 27, 1965. Bill was a tireless and loving Caretaker to Kay during her 4 year battle with ALS before she passed in 2011….she always referred to him as “her Rock”. Bill spent his entire 34 year career at Alcoa Warrick Operations where he was an innovative Engineer responsible for the development and implementation of process computer automation and control systems. These technical systems were applied to Alcoa processes throughout the United States and International locations. He retired from Alcoa in the mid 1990’s only to return as Director of Communications and Special Projects, Alcoa European Operations in Italy before fully retiring in 1999. Bill fostered many lifelong friendships and remained loyal to those around him for the entirety of his life. He cherished his 6 grandchildren immensely and will continue to serve as a strong role model in their lives. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Woodford Jaggers and Mildred Reeder Davis; his grandparents who helped raise him, Sidney and Pearl Sandefur; his beloved wife of 46 years, Kay Herron Jaggers; his in-laws, Clint and Mabel Herron and most recently his dear son, Ryan Jaggers. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Sally Jaggers-Weber and her children Jagger (fiancée, Hope), Annie and Elizabeth Slaats; his son-in-law, Kent Weber; his daughter-in-law, Monet Jaggers and her children, Cade, Camden and Alessi Jaggers; his friend and long-time companion, Linda and his numerous life-long and dear friends. The Jaggers family would like to express our most sincere gratitude to the entire Gentive Hospice Care staff, particularly Angi, Rhonda and Madison who helped care for Bill in the last year of his life with tireless compassion, love and grace. For those fortunate enough to know him in their lives, they knew this to be true: He invested his love and time in people, helped anyone and everyone at every turn and simply made their lives better. He was a kind and selfless man who always put others first. Bill Reeder Jaggers, you will certainly be remembered for your unwavering dedication to family and friends, for your consistent helping hands and for the joy, love and friendship you brought to those who know and love you. May you rest in peace. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Rolling Hills Country Club in Newburgh, Indiana. We will eat, drink, share fond memories and make a toast to Bill. Please come visit with us! In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Youth First, Inc., 111 SE 3rd St. #405, Evansville, IN 47708. Condolences may be made online at www.AlexanderNewburghChapel.com.
