Margaret (Peggy) Oswald-Manning died March 24, 2018, after a one and a half year battle with cancer. Peggy was 57 years old. A proud graduate of St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing, Peggy received her B.A. from Marymount Manhattan College and her M.A. from Columbia Teachers College. As an R.N., M.A., Vice President of Client Relations, and Special Assistant to the CEO and President, Peggy served at New York-Presbyterian Hospital and Weill Cornell Medical Center for 36 years. She was an Operating Room Nurse, a Senior Staff Nurse in the Burn Operating Room, and more recently a leader in the Patient Services Administration and Client Relations departments. Peggy leaves behind her beloved husband Patrick Manning, son Patrick, daughter-in-law Ashleigh, baby granddaughter Catherine; her brothers Gerald (Catherine) Oswald, and Thomas (Dale) Oswald; two nieces; five nephews; and other family members to whom she was deeply devoted. Her brother William (Billy) whom Peggy loved very much pre-deceased her. Peggy’s great compassion for, and devotion to, patients and their families at NY Presbyterian remained unfailing even throughout her illness. She exemplified the very best, and her memory is a blessing and inspiration “If you met Peggy during the day, she made your day.” Friends and family will be received Monday 4-8p.m. at Frank E. Campbell “The Funeral Chapel” 1076 Madison Avenue New York, NY. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday 10:30a.m. St Ignatius Loyola R.C. Church (84th Street & Park Avenue). A private cremation to follow.
