Marcia Marks Thaler, died peacefully at home on Monday, October 9th. Marcia was born in New York City on July 19, 1943 to Dorothy (Shultz) and Milton Marks. Marcia is the cherished mother of Karen (Matthew) Goodell and Lawrence (Jacquelyn) Thaler; devoted Grandmother of Henry, Charlie, Ryan, and Noah; beloved Aunt to Elizabeth Branshaw and Joshua Paul; and impassioned sister of Joan Paul. Marcia is predeceased by her niece Victoria Paul.
Before retiring, Marcia, a graduate of New York University Uptown, was an early childhood educator and administrator at both the 92nd Street Y and the JCP Downtown.
Marcia was an avid golfer and gardener, volunteering her time to the Central Park Conservancy in both Riverside and Central Parks. She was a member of two different book clubs, played both canasta and bridge with her adoring and adored community of friends and neighbors, and knew the name of almost every dog residing in Lincoln Towers.
A graveside service for Marcia will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Cedar Park Cemetery, 735 Forest Avenue, Paramus, NJ 07652.
