It didn’t take long for Leslie and I to became fast friends. We bonded not just over Tai Chi but also our health issues. She was the pro when it came to sharing her experience and expertise and, for that, I will be forever grateful. Leslie was someone to admire and emulate, a woman with character, dignity, a sense of what is right and responsible…rare and valuable qualities. She was 100% real. I will always think of her fondly and try to emulate her many enviable traits. May she rest in peace and watch over her beloved family for all the days to come. Love, Holly Sanders

Dear Hal, Gregory, Sam, Noah and Alannah,

My heartfelt sympathies to all of you on Leslie’s passing.  

I met Leslie at tai chi and loved her laughter, friendliness, warmth , kindness, and most of all her indomitable spirit.  

Leslie often interrupted her exercise to stop and admire a child or pet a dog.  She spoke to everyone.  I called her the mayor of Sutton Place Park.  

It was an honor and a privilege to have Leslie as my friend.   She will be sorely missed and never forgotten. 

May Leslie’s memory be a blessing.

Leslie, During our daily  sunrise riverside Taichi, every child at Sutton Park would run up to you knowing that they were genuinely loved. 
Your smile never faltered. 
Your gaze never wavered. 

Your caring for each one of us was infinite.
After my heart attack, you made sure the summer’s heat or the winter’s cold didn’t affect me; always enquiring and advising when to be extra cautious.

Once when I was having an episode and I panicked, you sat with me on a park bench throughout my doctor’s call and then, walked with me to Duane Reade until I picked up my prescription. After that you walked me home. You assured me that you were doing just fine. You kept me out of the Emergency Room that day and I am so very grateful to you for that. 

Leslie, I shall truly miss you! You are loved. Here, is a photo of you with some members of our Taichi group in summer 2022.

If you feel sad  think of me  for that's what I'd like. When you live in the hearts  of those you love,  remember then... you never die.

Leslie was a force of nature.; an original; a caring friend; a tower of strength.  Leslie was a woman who will be forever remembered by her Tai Chi friends. It just will never be the same without her. We were all so lucky to have had her in our lives, though for way too short a time. 
May her name be for a blessing.

My deep condolence to Leslie’s family. We will miss her beautiful presence. Leslie introduced me to our outdoor river Tai Chi group and we participated many days together in all seasons and all weather. Her warmth and caring permeated the group,  and her inner strength during her illness was inspiring to all. We will remember her when the snow falls. We will remember her when the autumn leaves turn glorious colors. We will remember  her when the summer sun warms  us. We will remember her when the flowers bloom.
