Dennis Darnell

Dennis was an avid fisherman. He loved to spend time at the lake and with his grandchildren. During his time in the Army, he proudly served two tours in Vietnam where he earned several awards including a Purple Heart. After the Army, he drove trucks for 53 years, 30 of those with his wife by his side. He was passionate about traveling all over the United States.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Darnell. Parents, Harry and Mary Darnell, and brother-in-law Wayne Von-Eime.

Dennis is survived by his brother, Steve (Christine) Darnell. Sister, Vicky Von-Eime. Sons; Brian (Amy) Pendleton and Jeff Pendleton. Grandchildren; Haley Pendleton, Brinley Pendleton, and Emily Pendleton. Nephews; Harry (Lacy) Darnell and Keary (Rebecca) Hawkins. Niece, Blair (Ian) Rafferty. As well as great nieces, and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 5 until 7 PM at Coffey Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7 PM in the Coffey Funeral Home chapel with military honors. A graveside service will be held Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 10 AM in the Lynch Cemetery on Rebel Hollow Rd in Hancock County.
