Madeline Mueller

On the afternoon of June 12, Madeline joined other angels in heaven after many years of serving others.

Born February 25, 1934, Madeline was the daughter of Otto and Elizabeth Budd Mueller. Otto owned “O Mueller Inc.”, office supplies and stationary on Huguenot Street from 1919 till well into the 50’s. Elizabeth was a farmer’s daughter and school teacher from Dutchess Co. NY.

Madeline graduated from New Rochelle High School in 1952 and Centenary College in New Jersey in 1954.

After several years working as a secretary for ESSO Petroleum she launched a career of helping those in need.

For many years she served as a governess and “Nanny” for Susanne and Freddy Parenteau as they were growing up.

Madeline then changed to helping the elderly in need of assistance. Robert Straub lived well into his 90’s with an assist from Madeline’s care.

For 25 years Madeline supervised the needs of Gwen Appleyard and eventually she was in charge of round the clock help the enabled Gwen to live with dignity into her 98th year.

Recently, suffering from poor health, Madeline was blessed with the care and companionship of Lisa Griffith that allowed Madeline to also live with dignity in her own home on Perth Ave.

Madeline is survived by a brother, George, a dairy farmer from Clifton Springs, NY, a sister-in-law, Mary Lue Morgan Mueller, and three nephews, Jeff, (Cindy) John, (Sally) and Steve (Christie) Mueller, and two nieces, Ann (Jeff) Prescott and Sara (Gary) Cowan / Reynolds. Aunt “Maddy” was special to all her nieces and nephews.

In the next generation, Madeline is survived by fourteen grand nieces and grand nephews. Madeline is also survived by a very, very, special friend, Julie Staudt, of Yonkers.

Because Madeline lived a frugal life she took seriously answering many of her endless solicitations. Madeline would be pleased if in lieu of flowers her friends would contribute to the charity of their choice.

A Memorial Visitation will be held Tuesday June 23, 2015 from 10:00am – 11:00am at the George T. Davis Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am at the Funeral Home to celebrate the life of a very special lady.
