Terry S. Duncan, 71, of Tampa, Florida took his talents to heaven on April 3, 2021 after years of fighting many health battles.
He was born June 3, 1949 to Betty Jo Duncan and the late Rex Duncan in Indianapolis, Indiana. Terry graduated from Southport High School. On February 1, 1969 he married his high school sweetheart and wife of 51 years, Nancy C. (Meyers) Duncan.
After high school, Terry joined General Motors where he worked in the automotive industry for over 30 years. He was drafted bythe Army during Vietnam where he served his country valiantly and lost his left leg to a landmine. Terry was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor, Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, and retired as a Staff Sergeant.
Some of his most favorite moments came from coaching all three of his sons in sports and becoming an "expert referee critic" as he rooted on his sons and grandchildren in their athletic pursuits. Terry also loved Indy Car and Nascarracing, live music, visiting Key West, people watching on the beach, and trips to his favorite restaurants Rusty Bellies and Sam's Beach Bar.
Terry is survived by his wife, Nancy; sons, Andrew S. Duncan of Tampa, Florida and Derrik P. Duncan of Martinsville, Indiana; mother, Betty Jo Duncan of Martinsville, Indiana; grandchildren, Lane Duncan of Bloomfield, Indiana, Hannah and Haven Duncan of Martinsville, Indiana, and Isela Suarez of Tampa, Florida; sisters, Stephanie Duncan Allen of Mooresville, Indiana, Melinda Wilkinson of Brownsburg, Indiana, and Rebecca Cox of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Terry was preceded in death by his father,Rex Duncan, oldest son Devan, and many other family members that he will join in heaven.
Visitation is 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Costin Funeral Chapel. Services with military honors will follow the visitation at 4:00 p.m. at Costin Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services in Hudson, Florida will be Tuesday, April 13, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Meadowlawn Funeral Home in New Port Richey.
