Randall Edwin Stone, 67, of New Port Richey FL, formerly from Odessa, NY, passed away on October 7, 2021. He was predeceased by mother Dorothy Dodge Stone, father Bill Stone, step mother Betty Stone and brother Lawrence Stone. He was survived by former wife Carol Lineman Stone of Montour Falls NY, daughters Kristen Stone Heichel of Montour Falls, NY, Katie (Kyle) Holtz of South Glens Falls, NY, and Kelly Stone of Nashville, TN. He enjoyed being a grandfather to Alexis, Allison, Molly, David, Julia, Alex and Audrey. He is also survived by his siblings Bill (Brenda) Stone, Danielle (Doug) Woodward, Greg (Sue) Stone, Tamara (Jerry) Lipscomb and nieces and nephews that were very special to him.
Randall was a proud graduate of Elmira Southside High School during the flood of 1972. He went on to attend Roberts Wesleyan College and graduated in 1978 with a degree in education. He later graduated from Colgate Rochester Divinity School with a Masters of Divinity and was ordained as an American Baptist Minister.
Throughout his life Randall wore many hats. He was a teacher, firefighter, coach, EMT, chaplain, sports writer, radio personality, master of puns, sports officiant, race fan, off-ice official, GED tutor, and spent his later years serving individuals facing difficult life circumstances.
His faith and trust in God were a very important part of who he was. Following God’s call, he pastored First Baptist Church of Deposit and Odessa Baptist Church. At the time of his death he was serving as an interim pastor at Emmanuel Community Church in Palm Harbor, FL.
He spent his retirement years in Florida where he had many friends. He enjoyed going to the beach and travelling. He was very proud of his grandchildren and enjoyed watching them perform in musicals and sports. Randall had placed his faith in Jesus Christ, his personal Savior, therefore his family rejoices in the peace that he is reunited with loved ones in heaven.
A memorial service will be held at Odessa Baptist Church 110 Fowler Place, Odessa, NY on October 16 at 11 AM.
