After graduating from Marshall High School, he selected Texas A & M University for his college career. His fond memories of life at College Station remained forever with him. His academic career was followed by service in the United States Air Force, where he served as Captain. In 2005, after 33 years, he retired as Chief of Real Estate division for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in New Orleans.
Since 1976 Bill resided in the New Orleans area, where he enjoyed his reign with his daughter as the 39th Monarchs of the Krewe of Pegasus. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed the friendship of his golfing buddies; his greatest pleasures were the numerous cruises with Peggy.
Bill is survived by his present wife of 19 years, Peggy Wilson Sparck-Lewis. For 30 years he was married to the late Brenda Myers Lewis of New Albany, MS and devoted father of the late Gregory M. Lewis (Melissa) and survived by daughter, Angela L. McDaniel (Jim). He cherished his grandsons: Brandon, Jacob, Connor Lewis, Hunter and granddaughter, Madison Morales.
His life with Peggy included his significant role as father to Ellen Sparck Causey (Jamie) and Jennifer Sparck Campbell (Duane). To Meg Causey, Drew Causey and Patrick Campbell, he was a lovable grandfather. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Jane Myers of Tupelo, MS, Jane Wilson of New Orleans and Uncle of Casey Myers (Amy) of Southhaven, MS.
Visitation for friends and relatives will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 8:30am at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA. The Funeral Mass will follow at 12pm with an interment in Metairie Cemetery.
