Toni Tanner Smegal died on July 9, 2014 after a lengthy illness. Toni is survived by her husband Tommy Smegal and her sister Trudy Saia (Michael). In the 1980's Toni entertained her many loyal customers while tending bar at LeBooz in the Royal Sonesta hotel. She then went on to become a very successful real estate agent with ReMax Properties in New Orleans. In recent years she was a volunteer at the Blessed Father Seelos Center where she met and maintained many dear friends. Toni was an adamant supporter of animal rights and leaves behind her precious dogs Gypsy, Joey, and Edy. Toni will be remembered for her outgoing personality (some would say pushy), and her love of life.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, on Saturday July 12, 2014 from 9am-11am followed by a brief service. Reception to follow. Interment will be private.
