Susan Marie Foto

Susan Marie Foto, 63, passed away Monday, April 2, 2018 in New Orleans. Daughter to the late Michael H. Foto, Jr. and the late Gloria Papa Foto, beloved niece of the late Marie Papa Cusimano and the late Frank Cusimano. Also preceded in death by the late Anthony “Brother” Foto (Dee), the late Merlie Foto Spicuzza, (Peter), first cousins, the late Charles Foto and the late Michael Spicuzza. She is survived by her brother, Michael H. Foto, III, and her dearest first cousins, Frank Cusimano Jr. (Judy), Gary Cusimano, Dana Cusimano Farley (Michael), Carin Cusimano Evans (Paul), William Foto (Diana) of San Diego, CA and Jeannette Spicuzza, as well as many beloved cousins she considered her nieces and nephews, David Cusimano (Dawn), Maria Cusimano Bruce (Jonathan), Catherine Cusimano, Mary Cusimano (Justin), James Cusimano (Leslie), Sammy Cusimano (Vicki), Nadia Farley, Ethan Evans, Michael E. Farley, 8 great nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and many dear friends. She attended St. Matthias Catholic School and was a graduate of Ecole Classique High School. Susan and her family owned and operated Ferro’s Food Store in uptown New Orleans for 19 years. Later, she was employed at Dominican High School and Tulane University. She was a lover of art, music, theater, travel, parades, nature, snowballs and most of all, her family and friends. Susan was known for her Easter egg hunts, her wit and ability to evoke laughter, her compassion, and her respect for all people. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Wednesday, April 11, 2018. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am, and service will follow at 1:00 pm. Interment will take place in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
