Nothing could be a better description of Sharon Moskau Marchand, who passed peacefully on November 10, 2024, surrounded by family and friends. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband Rivers John Marchand. She is survived by her son, Dino Joseph Radosta, her daughter-in-law, Tina Phillips Radosta, and her three beloved grandsons, Austin James Radosta, Phillip Joseph Radosta, and Carter Jonathan Radosta. Sharon is also survived by her five stepchildren, Gladys Elana Core, Margaret Anne Marchand, Mary Agnes Marchand, Gay Marchand Redler and Rivette Marchand Hill. Sharon is also survived by her two loyal fur babies, Ellie Mae and Daisy Mae.
Petite, perky and playful, Sharon was also quite active in volunteerism throughout the Greater New Orleans area. She generously shared her bookkeeping and management skills with organizations such as Ladies Leukemia League, Cancer Crusaders and others. In keeping with her lifelong interest in dance, she also actively supported local performing arts through the New Orleans Ballet Association, BRAVO, and the Jefferson Performing Arts Society. Her accomplishments and service to the community earned her awards and recognition such as Men and Women of Fashion, EJGH Auxiliary Great Lady/Great Gentleman and Saint Elizabeth’s Guild Volunteer Activists.
Sharon was dearly loved by her family and all of those who had the privilege of calling her a friend. She will be deeply missed for her independent spirit, unique sense of humor and sparkling blue eyes that matched her sparkling personality.
A memorial service will be held for family and friends on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124.
