Ronald Joseph Kennedy Sr.

Beloved husband of JoAnn Cardinale Kennedy for 57 years. Father of Karen Kennedy Richardson (Michael E.) and Ronald Joseph Kennedy, Jr. (Lou). Son of the late James Kennedy and Myrtle Barrett Kennedy. Brother of Myrtle Kennedy and the late Ira Kennedy, James “Jim” Kennedy, Joy McGehee, and Erane Niehues. Grandfather of Kristyn Gordey Parsons, James Gordey, Ronald J. “Ronnie” Kennedy, III, Emma Kennedy, Sam Kennedy, Olivia Kennedy and Tyler and Peyton Harris. Great grandfather of Thomas Cole “Deuce” Parsons, II and Weston Joseph Parsons. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Kennedy served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He served as a Police Officer with the NOPD 27 years, JPSO for 16 years, the US Marshall’s Office, and most recently the State 5th Circuit Court of Appeal. He was a former member of the American Legion Post 139, Bay St. Louis, MS and the American Legion Post 350, Metairie, LA.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 12:00pm . Visitation will be from to 10:00am until 12:00pm Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery #2.
