Robert A. Rodriguez Jr.

Robert A. Rodriguez, Jr. (Bob), died as a servant of the Lord on Sunday December 21st, 2014 at the age of 89. Bob was the husband of 67 years to Lorraine Saucier Rodriguez. He was the beloved father of Stephanie (Benjamin) Gioe, Sherri Blanchard, Sheila (Matthew) Stanley of Oklahoma, and Suzanne Rodriguez. Bob was “Gramp” to John (Kelly) Whitney of Oklahoma and Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Whitney. He was “Paw Paw” to Amanda and Allison Blanchard, Tayler and Hannah Stanley, and also the late Ray Blanchard and “Papa” to his great-grandchildren Caroline and Jack Whitney. He is survived by his best buddy, “Thunder”.

Bob was the son of the late Margaret Pearl Lund and Robert Raphael Rodriguez. He was brother to the late Herbert Rodriguez, Margaret Harmann, Inez Ford and Raymond Rodriguez. Bob is survived by many relatives and friends.

Bob served more than 60 years in I.B.E.W. Local 130, and served valiantly during WWII in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of St. Angela Merici Church for more than 50 years and also served as an Ex. Eucharistic Minister for 25 years. Bob also received the Order of St. Louis Medallion from the Archdiocese of New Orleans, and the Senior Citizens Medal for services rendered to the faith.

His second family of “8:30 a.m. Mass Attendees,” and all of his family and friends are invited on Monday December 29th, 2014 to St. Angela Merici Church, 901 Beverly Garden Dr., Metairie for visitation that starts at 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Mass will start at Noon. Interment will follow in St. Louis #3 Cemetery on Esplanade Ave.

In lieu of flowers, masses are preferred.
