Patricia Barconey Anthony "Trish"

Patricia Barconey Anthony “Trish”, daughter of the late Whitney and Pecola Harrell Barconey was born in New Orleans on March 9, 1946. Affectionately known as Ms. Pat, she passed away peacefully at home with her family at her bedside on August 2, 2018.

Patricia was a graduate of Walter L. Cohen High School and Dillard University. She devoted her life to educating children and spent most of her teaching career at Albert Wicker Elementary School. After retiring from the Orleans Parish School Board, Trish spent time with family and friends, which was her greatest enjoyment.

She leaves to cherish her husband and true love, Bennie, of 54 years; her daughters, Kim Winder (Kerry) and Tamie Sam (Craigory); granddaughter, Kristie Winder (Quentin); grandsons, Kristopher Winder (Antonia), Lorenzo Clavo, Craigory Sam, Jr., and the late Mario Clavo; great-granddaughters, Yarie Simoneaux and Kennidi Wise; great-grandsons, Koby Winder and Charles Butler; brother, Whitney Barconey (the late Gwendolyn); sisters, Betty Daniels (the late Kenneth) and Brenda Rainey; sisters-in-law, Sheila Anthony, Lillian Smith, Evelyn Riley, Katherine Gyles, Debra Howery (Jeffery); brothers-in-law, Eric Anthony, William Anthony, Gerald Devore, Rashid Ali, Edward Riley, Clifton Riley, the late Michael and Mario Anthony; godmother of, Cheryl Barconey and Terrence Rainey; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and multiple friends and relatives.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Transfiguration of the Lord, 5621 Elysian Fields Ave., New Orleans, LA on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 11AM. A visitation will begin at 9AM. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
