Morell "Rell" T. Scott

Morell Terrell Scott was born on January 1, 1999, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Starke Scott. He was the second child out of four children. On November 9, 2022, Morell departed this life at the tender age of 23.

He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and saviour and was baptized at the age of 7. Morell grew up in New Orleans where he attended St. Joan of Arc, St. Augustine for middle school and graduated from McDonough 35 Senior High School in 2018. He was raised by his grandmother, Martha Lee Anderson up until her passing in 2014 whom he was very close to. Following her death, Morell was cared for by his aunt Antoinette M. Anderson dad, Sam Hawkins and Mary Hawkins grandmother whom he deeply loved.

Morell had a love for football and started playing at Eastern Park while in elementary school. As soon as he was eligible in middle school, he joined the football team and continued to play all throughout secondary and high school.

After high school, Morell enrolled in Arkansas Baptist College University, HBCU in Little Rock, Arkansas. While there, Morell continued to play football. He attended the school for almost two years and decided to sit out for the spring semester in 2020 to work and transfer to a school closer to home.

Morell is survived by his mom Starke Scott, grandmothers Rose Scott & Mary Hawkins, sisters Paula Scott & Donnia Wells, brother Malachi Scott, aunts Antoinette Anderson, Terrell (Lloyd) Washington, Theresa Bolling, Rhonda Lewis & Betty Menzine, uncles Vincent Scott, Anthony Scott, Kevin Hawkins, Burnell Nelson, niece Nova Theophile, God parents Fredrick Anderson & Nadia Major, God sisters Malaysia & McKinley Major, a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.

Morell was preceded in death by his grandmother Martha Lee Anderson, grandfathers Charles Anderson & Emile Hawkins Jr., uncles Ronald Hawkins and Dwayne Hawkins.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in New Orleans, LA at 11:00 a.m. Visitation begins at 9:00 a.m. Arrangements by Lake Lawn Funeral Home.
