Michael Joseph Moore Sr.

Michael Joseph Moore, Sr. died on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at the age of 71. He was a native and resident of New Orleans. Michael was a service technician supervisor for Fitness Expo and was a foster parent for the state of Louisiana. He enjoyed telling fantastic amazing stories about his (imaginary) military adventures. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Moore and Edwina Hall; sister, Donna Faye Moore Elliard; and brother, William Hayes. He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Cheryl C. Moore; his sons, Michael J. Moore, Jr., Ryan J. Moore and Michael Garner (Chantell); sisters, Eloise LaBostrie, Marietta Woolard (Daval) and Karen Brooks (Russell); brother, Clarence Moore (Ivy); and grandchildren, Jaedan Moore, Rhaydan Ennis Mitchell Gordon, Michael Gordon, Miguel Gordon, Malik Williams and Maliah Garner. The family would like to give special thanks to Mrs. Vera Sims, Mrs. Tammy Franklin, Celestine and Jimmie Hughes, Rev. Quinton Barrow and Rev. Frederick Franklin, III. Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services Friday, October 4, 2024 held at Greater Little Rock Baptist Church, 10201 Dwyer Rd, New Orleans, LA. Visitation will start at 9AM until the service begins at 10AM. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, New Orleans.
