Mary Alice “Mickey” Rousseau Pittman passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at the age of 89. Born on March 27, 1933, in Jackson Mississippi, to the late Albert Guy Rousseau and Mattie Mae Grubbs Rousseau. She was a resident of New Orleans for most of her life.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Everett C. “Teddy” Pittman, Jr.; grandson Christopher Michael Pittman.
Mary Alice is survived by her daughters, Peggy Milden (Dick) of Pompano Beach, FL and Kim Vanek (Rich) of Covington, LA; sons, Timothy Guy Pittman, Sr. (Mary) of Waller, TX and Everett Michael Pittman (Sherri) of El Paso, TX; sisters, Elizabeth Greer (Gerald) of Slidell, LA and Madeleine Ellison (Hal) of Madison, MS; eleven grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
She was a retired co-owner/manager of Mickey Construction Company, New Orleans.
Mary enjoyed spending her time singing in the choir, playing piano, cooking, and sewing, as she was a talented seamstress.
She was a former Commander of Lake Pontchartrain Power Squadron and a former member of the Krewe of Iris.
The family would like to give special thanks to the entire Christwood community, but especially to Companion Services and the staff of the Assisted Living Unit.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Monday October 17, 2022 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans. Visitation will begin at 10:00am. Interment in Metairie Cemetery.
