Marjorie Smith

Marjorie Welbrock Smith, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October,24 2024 at the age of 77. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana Margie's spirit and infectious joy for life touched everyone she met. Margie was a graduate of Francis T. Nicholls High School. She was owner/operator of Bo-Peep Daycare Center in St. Bernard Parish for 18 years where she dedicated her time and love to all the hundreds of children, families and employees who passed through her doors. Known for her incredible love for her family, Margie cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren Spenser, Winston and Kate and her nephew and niece Emerson and Amelia.

Margie adored her Yorkshire Terriers like family, having four beautiful, loyal, "Yorkies" throughout her life.

Margie is survived by her loving husband of 58 years Guy H. Smith who was the absolute love of her life and two children, Stacy Smith-Kennedy (Patrick), Guy M. Smith (Karen). Margie, known as "MawMaw"(Grandma), leaves a lasting legacy through her grandchildren Spenser, Winston and Kate. She is survived by her beloved, “Baby" sister Nancy Welbrock Colley (Roy). Margie is preceded in death by her parents, George and Teresa Welbrock and her brother George "Jimmy" Welbrock. In celebrating Margie's life, we remember her warmth, laughter and countless memories she created with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed and forever cherished in our hearts.
