"Maw-Maw", as she was called, never had a bad day in her 86 years. She was full of love, kindness and forever cheerful. Her glass was always half full. If anyone was having a bad day they would call Maw-Maw and she was certain to cheer them up. As her only granddaughter I can say she was the best grandmaw and great-grandmaw in the world. We were especially close and my heart will forever ache without her in my life. Her great grandchildren were the light of her life. She never missed an opportunity to visit, play, love and hug them. She is the only 80 year old I ever knew to dig up worms in her backyard with a shovel for her boys. She loved to give her definition of grandchildren, "They keep me young, happy, and broke and I love it."
She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a funeral service at JACOB SCHOEN & SON Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St., New Orleans on Friday, October 1, 2010 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am until service time. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery. Please sign on line guest book at www.schoencanalstreet.com.
