I knew Mrs. Marion back in the 50's because I went to Grammar School with her son, Beau.  Lost touch with her after that until about 8 or 10 years ago when she started coming to my Garage Sales twice a year with Nancy.
I always looked forward to seeing her because I knew we would have another nice chat. I knew from her conversations how much she adored Beau and her grandchildren.  I was honored to have known her and know how much she will be missed by her family and friends.

I met Ms. Marion, where else but going to garage sales - she was such an endearing person and I loved her like she was my Maw Maw.  To Nancy and the rest of her family, I extend my deepest sympathy - she will truly be missed.

Maw Maw Marion was a kind, sweet and very loving lady. She was always full of energy for her grandchildren and others around her. Never had a mean bone in her body. I will miss her very much no one can ever replace her smile and her warm heart. "I love you maw maw and will never forget you" and I know my girls( Avery & Zoie)  will never forget you either. Aunt Marion is a wonderful person.  I remember her very well at the Camp Days.  She always had a smile on her face and when everyone else was lounging around, there was Marion making sure all were happy.  She has reminded me that life is for happiness and to live each day to its fullest.
Her family was her life!!

Through Nan, Nancy, and Babe, I got to know Aunt Marion, and I can't thank them enough.  Her unbelievable outlook on life was very contagious.  Who else could keep you laughing, even when visiting her in the hospital?!  She was always having a good time, no matter where she was or what was going on.  Her stories were priceless!  If we could all be like her, the world couldn't help but be a wonderful place.  I will think of her often, since my house is full of garage sale bargains from the weekly Saturday trips that she and Nancy would take!  Your family is so blessed to have had her in your lives.  Thanks for sharing her with so many of us.

No better tribute can be given than the ones she received from her Granddaughter Lori Ann Thornton and her other "kids". I know you will miss her tremendously.

Aunt Marion was the kind of woman, friend, and relative that i wish i could even come close to being! She was always full of life and positive no matter what was going on. Aunt Marion was the kind of person that when she asked what was going on with you she really wanted to know... truly genuine! When I was growing up every morning of the first day of school she would call and sing "School Days" without fail, she cared and it always put a smile on my face (even if it was the first day of school). I will deeply miss her.

She was an angel on earth and she is an angel in heaven!!
Aunt Marion was truly the nicest person who ever walked this earth. She is loved by everyone.  I think that when a person dies and there is no one left who has a bad thought about them or a bad thing to say about them then that is when they go to heaven. Lori, I am so sorry for your loss.  I never had a chance to meet Maw-Maw, but the stories from you and the boys I can tell she was a very special person to your family.  We are here for you if you need anything.

No love on earth can ever compare to a mother's special love. We hope the love you shared with your mother lives forever in your heart, and brings you comfort at this difficult time. When I was young, I called her Meme. She was such a kind-hearted, giving person who always wanted to know what was going on in your life. I will always remember her for the cheerfulness she brought and of course her delicious chocolate fudge. I have so many good memories of her-Sunday lunches at Granny's, her visits to Baton Rouge when Lori and I went to L.S.U. and the countless phone conversations. My Aunt Marion was an Angel on Earth. I will miss her.

Aunt Marion was my Aunt and friend. She made my childhood very special. In later years we went to Garage Sales every Saturday for as long as she could go.Wherever we went people loved her.We are blessed to have had her in our lives.I am sad she is no longer here but every memory of her makes me happy.
