Marion Adrienne Waechter Cooper Pierce, a native of New Orleans, LA died peacefully at her home in Picayune Mississippi on May 19, 2015 at the age of 95. She moved to Picayune in 2005 after losing her home in New Orleans from flooding from the levee failures following Hurricane Katrina. Born on June 8, 1919 to the late Henrietta Dorothea Stephanie Gerdes and George Joseph William Leo Bartholomew Waechter. She was the wife by first marriage of Adam Cooper, Sr. who predeceased her on July 4, 1968 and wife by second marriage of Alvin Paul Pierce, who predeceased her on December 22, 1995. Also preceded in death by her brothers, Alfred Merlin Waechter, Henry George Waechter, Sr., Joseph Eugene Waechter, George William Waechter and Theodore E. Waechter. She is survived by her sons, (1) Adam Cooper, Jr., husband of Linette Kae Sander, (2) Gerald Richard Cooper, husband of Mary Elizabeth Hollis, and (3) Ronald Robert Cooper, husband of Bethany Lael Seruntine. She was grandmother of (1) Robin Lael Cooper, (2) Robert Paul Cooper, husband of Kelly Leigh Landes, (3) Suzanne Bethany Cooper, wife of Donald Cory Walker, (4) Adrienne Linette Cooper, wife of Todd Robert Slack, (5) Adam Arthur Cooper, husband of Melinda Marie Gibson, (6) Matthew Joel Cooper, husband of Christy Ann Blackwell, (7) Adam Patrick Cooper, (8) Elizabeth Hollis Cooper, wife of Timothy Eugene Kirby, and (9) grandson, Timothy Stephen Cooper who predeceased her. Also survived by sixteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren: (1) Megan Elizabeth Cooper Stricklin, (2) Alexandra Leigh Cooper, wife of Cody Rick, (3) Jonathan Tyler Cooper, (4) Kaitlin Amanda Cooper, (5) Caroline Ainsley Cooper, (6) Emily Amanda Walker, (7) Sarah Lael Walker, (8) Molly Elizabeth Walker, (9) Naomi Marion Slack, (10) Victoria Lael Slack, (11) Cooper Todd Slack, (12) Adam Alvin Cooper, (13) Maegan Leta Cooper, (14) Jacob Tyler Cooper, (15) Kelsey Nicole Cooper, and (16) Ansley Grace Cooper and the four great-great grandchildren, (1) Bayleigh Grace Stricklin, (2) Grayson Robert Stricklin (3) Madeline Kate Stricklin and (4) Amelia Faith Rick. She was a life-long member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in the Marigny in New Orleans, and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Picayune, MS. She lived her faith. Job 19: 25-27. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Orleans or Picayune, St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Gulfport, MS, Smile Train or charity of your choosing are preferred. Visitation will be at ST. PAUL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2624 Burgundy Street, New Orleans, LA on Saturday, May 23, 2015 from 10:30 A.M. until the funeral service at 12:00 Noon.
