Marina Ramirez

Marina Ramirez, 87, entered into eternal peace Saturday, December 8. Miss Ramirez was a resident of Chateau Notre Dame in New Orleans. Born in Granada, Nicaragua, she has been a resident of New Orleans since 1952.

Miss Ramirez attended Spencer Business College in New Orleans, followed by positions at Ochsner and Touro. Miss Ramirez then worked for Pan American Life in several capacities from 1958 to 1991. She was a devoted fan of music, theater and art in general, having had subscription tickets to the Opera for more than 20 years, in addition to membership in the symphony, New Orleans Museum of Art and Friends of the Cabildo.

Miss Ramirez is survived by a nephew, Tom O’Connor (Eileen) of Slidell, in addition to nieces and nephews throughout the U.S. and Nicaragua.

Visitation from 11 am to 12 pm and service from 12 to 1 pm December 13, 2012, will take place at Jacob Schoen & son Funeral Home at 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans. Interment will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery Number One.
