He was born in New Orleans on September 24, 1942 to Lewis P. Eaves, Jr. and Mireille Couret Eaves. He was a De La Salle High School graduate and went on to attend Southeastern Louisiana University. He served six years in the United Stated Army Reserve. Lewis had a long career in marine industry sales. He was a member of Over The Mountain Athletic Club (OMAC), the American Legion Post 175 in Metairie, an outstanding social member of “Hooks Lodge” in Alabama, and “Party in the Park” which was an annual party in Audubon Park held the Sunday before Mardi Gras. He was a devoted parishioner and usher at St. Rita Catholic Church in New Orleans. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and hanging with friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Patricia Noonan Eaves; daughter, Shannon Mireille Eaves Hatton (Joshua); Lewis P. Eaves IV; and grandchildren, Ethan, Jameson, and Scarlett Hattox.
He was preceded in death by his parents; as well as his brother, Peter Eaves.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Legion Post 175 in Metairie would be appreciated.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 1 PM. Fr. Patrick Carr of St. Rita Catholic Church will officiate. Visitors may pay respects to the family beginning at 11 AM.
