Lenard “Lenny” J. Harmon, put up a valiant fight against Parkinson’s disease. He died peacefully in his sleep the morning of January 1, 2024, after just turning 87 on December 18, 2023. A native and lifelong resident of New Orleans, Louisiana. Lenny attended Warren Easton High School. He was owner of Alto Mobile Homes and Alto Insurance Agency. He also served in the U.S. Army.
Beloved husband of over 62 years to Margaret “Peggy” Colson Harmon. Son of the late Augustus Amos Harmon and Loretta Jastrow Harmon. Loving father of Loretta K. Harmon (Zahara), Margaret Harmon Sequeira (Lionel), Len Harmon, Jr., Jeffrey Harmon, Matthew Harmon (Vali), Sarah Harmon Underwood (Jim), and Elizabeth Harmon Gullett (Tim). Adoring grandfather of Amy Sequeira (fiancé Ben Anzalone), Adam Sequeira, Erin Sequeira, Madeleine Harmon, Michael Harmon, Annie Underwood, Luke Underwood, Emma Underwood, Jack Gullett, Colin Gullett, and Hudson Gullett. Brother of Kathleen Harmon Friedrichs, Thomas Harmon and the late Marlene Harmon Deichmann and Augustus Amos Harmon, Jr. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Lenny’s goal in life was to provide for his large family and he took pride in their achievements. He was kind, generous, loving and will be dearly missed. “Rest in peace Gramps”.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124 on Monday, January 8, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Metairie Cemetery.
