Larry Twiner passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021 at the age of 74. He was born in Yazoo City, Mississippi to the late Douglas and Eleanor Twiner. He grew up in St. Gabriel, Louisiana where he met the love of his life Jeanie Coleman Twiner. He is preceded in death by his two sons Doug and Chris Twiner. He is survived by his wife Jeanie, his three grandchildren Jacob, Sydney, and Emily Twiner, and his beloved dog Tuck. Larry proudly graduated from Northeastern in 1972. He went on to become a recognized authority and leader in the construction industry as he has owned and operated Lamar Contractors for the last 39 years. Lamar Contractors was more than a business for Larry, it was his family. Larry was quite the character if you knew him and he was an avid outdoorsman that had a love for water and fish. He was a huge advocate and supporter of Brother Martin High School where his late son Chris graduated. Larry loved a good cigar, or 4, but what he loved most of all was Mrs. Jeanie and his grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered as a devoted husband and adoring grandfather. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans beginning at 10:00am followed by a funeral service at 1:00pm. Interment will follow in St. Gabriel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his memory to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, www.t2t.org
